External USB mic?

Is explain everything compatible with external USB microphones, or can you only use the iPad mic?

Also, would the same app be compatible with a Bluetooth headset and mic?

Concerning the external sound inputs:

- you can use the iPhone headphones + mic for the best sound (without any "fancy" devices)

- I checked also two Plantronics bluetooth headsets - a stereo one (BackBeat 903) and a Voyager Pro +. They work as headphones only (the mic used by the app is the internal iPad mic). So you can hear the sound in the Bluetooth headphones, but audio records from the internal iPad mic.
We'll look into that (and maybe provide a way to switch the audio inputs)

- an external iPad mic - hard to tell, because I don't have one, and the only USB external soundcard I have does not work with the iPad (too high USB power required). Maybe some forum readers can check with their USB microphones?

Thanks for the feedback. I'll give the iPhone earbuds a try. I would also be interested in knowing if it would work with something like the blue microphone snowball mic. Maybe someone has tried this before?

Thanks for all the info and links! I recently purchased a Go Mic by SAMSON and it works great with the program. Can't wait to work with it some more.

I have started to create lectures for my AP biology class (I am "flipping" my course next school year) using Explain Everything...the app is awesome. Today I purchased a Samson Go Mic and it works flawlessly with EE. No powered hub needed, just an apple camera connection kit. For the price, $40, it is a no brainier. I am one happy camper right now, my lectures are going to rock!
