Hey guys, great software. I am planning to use it for teaching, so I am hoping it can record 90 minutes. Anyway, I have two questions about your software:
- Can I export all the slides to a png or pdf file, to make the class notes available to the students after the class?
- Can I make the pen thinner? The thinnest setting in the current version seems to be too thick for a presentation.
Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I thought about that as well, but the problem is that converting 90 minutes would take quite a long time. In my experience, EE needs twice the recording time to export a video at the highest resolution, and time gain lowering the quality of the video is not dramatic.
In my teaching I prefer to annotate PDF files directly with UPad and use the video recording capabilities of the projection system in use. That looks like a winning system to me, when the recording capabilities are available.
EE is better for short video lectures, in my opinion, until the conversion time won't be shortened.
Just my 2c.
Cheers, Maurizio

Hey Maurizio,
Thanks a lot for the reply. As a newbie in the use of Ipad in the classroom, I have a (probably silly) question: what do you mean by "the video recording capabilities of the projection system in use?" Is there an app for projecting and recording? Do you use UPad live during classes?

Hi, yes, we are planning to make a feature of exporting all slide thumbnails (or 'screenshots') to separate PNG files and store them in photo gallery.
Also, the upcoming update 1.2 will have another, yet thinner pen (a fourth possible thickness).
As for the long time of compression - what would you think about a Mac application that would be an 'EE compressor' - that is able to import .XPL files and compress them much faster using the Mac processors? We cannot make any faster compression on an iPad, because this is not a desktop computer and the hardware is not so fast as with eg. a Macbook.

Hi Piotr,
Hey, an outside compressor would be a great idea. Especially if you can make it also run on Windows, since that is what I have on my desktop.
If possible, could you please also include options for the thickness of the arrows and lines? They are also kind of thick for my needs in their current form.
One final suggestion. I am not quite sure what that feature is called, but programs like Windows Journal (which I am currently using, planning to replace by EE) has a sort of smoothing feature. After you finish drawing in freehand mode, it creates an image that in somewhat smoother than what you actually drew. Given my less than amazing drawing abilities, that feature is a real help
Thanks.

Hi Renato, we are working on an update, that has tons of new cool features :-) Stay tuned.
Concerning the Windows version of compressor: EE uses animation functions (Core animation) which are iOS and Mac OS X exclusive, so we cannot yet make a Windows version. Of course, if EE proves as popular as Angry Birds, then everything will be possible ;-)
All the best! Piotr
