I've just discovered PhotoPuppet HD (was an earlier PhotoPuppet user). I love the rotation features, but I'm confused. If I attach two objects together via triple tap, I understand they become hinged at the connection point. But now it's very difficult to move the compound puppet around. Any attempt to drag, pinch or rotate results in rotation around the connection point. I can't move the whole object around the screen. Or rather, I can sometimes move the object around, but it seems almost random when it works as opposed to just causing more rotation. Is there a trick to this? Can I turn the rotation off and just lock the two layered objects together?

You have to tap the item that you connected the appendage too. For instance - If you made a puppet and then an arm - connected the arm via triple tap. You need to tap on the puppet before it will move.
You also need to make sure you are away from the appendage before you click on the puppet, because if you're close then it will just rotate.
One other thing - If you created a puppet on top of a background it will be linked to the background and just rotate when you try and move it.
Create the puppet on a blank background - save it with a name - as a group. Close that - then start a new animation load in a background and then bring your puppet in. You should be able to move it.
Hope that helps.
