Since Photopuppet seems to generate a script that, on exporting, will be rendered into a video file and since highres rendering does take such a long time on an iPad, wouldn't it be possible to save the script and have it rendered by another application on an external computer?

Hi Harry,
Yes, we had such an idea too.
PhotoPuppet was originally created on Mac, so we can make an application, that will receive the project file (.IPT) via email (or file sharing in iTunes) and then render it to MP4 or YouTube on the 'real' computer. So this is already on our list of things that probably will be made in the upcoming months. For now only for the Mac.
If the app is REALLY popular, then we might make a Windows version, but this would require a lot of effort, since PhotoPuppet uses Apple graphics libraries which don't exist on Windows.
But of course, the one thing that we really need, is to get our users to be creative, generate PhotoPuppet videos and post them to YouTube :-) I really encourage that! This will show us that it's really worth to help them make it even faster :-) Right now it's only the beginning.

Piotr, since it was created on a Mac (but also for a Mac? or just with the SDK?) Why not go the whole hog and make a full fledged Mac application (too)? Integrating with the iLife suite!
Intuitive though the iPad maybe, drawing still works better with a mouse or tablet and stylus, and the much larger screen. And the faster processor. After all, the iPad is still not yet a computer. Photopuppets' potential seems a bit wasted. I would be willing to pay around say between €50 and €90

Hi Harry,
you're right, but moving the puppets on the Mac screen is not as easy as on the iPad.
We'll think something up, however. That's a good idea!
Best regards! Piotr

Yes you are right, one has to come up with an alternative for the multitouch input.
